Before You Start

Joining is fairly simple but there are some requirements that are non-negotiable:

  • You must have an active Facebook account and use that account to access club content and events.

  • You must complete a waiver which can be found here: Waiver Form

  • You must answer a few questions and agree to club rules during registration.

Just a few quick steps to follow:

  1. Complete the waiver. Make sure that the “Facebook Name” field matches your Facebook name exactly.

  2. Follow this link to access the group in Facebook. You may need to log into Facebook if you aren’t already.

  3. Press the Join Group button. A pop-up will display asking you a few questions. You must answer all the questions or your request will be rejected. If you don’t get the pop-up check your browser settings or try a different browser.

Just a few quick steps to follow:

  1. Complete the waiver. Make sure that the “Facebook Name” field matches your actual Facebook name exactly.

  2. Follow this link to access the group in Facebook. You’ll need to also log into Facebook if you aren’t already.

  3. What happens next may depend on your settings. If you open the link in the App, there should be a button “Answer Questions” that you will need to complete. If you open the link in a browser, the questions may pop up for you to answer or you might see the “Answer Questions” button.

  4. Complete the questions and submit the request. You must answer all the questions or your request will be rejected.

Now what?

If your request did not answer all the questions it may be automatically rejected by the Facebook admin tool. If you did answer the questions, then one of our volunteers will review and process the request usually within a few days to a week. We do this to try to weed out bots and commercial accounts.

Help! FAQ

Q: Why did my request get rejected?
A: The main reasons for rejection is we could not find an waiver associated with your Facebook name or you did not answer all the questions and accept the group rules in the request dialog. You can try again. If you need help, email the membership team at admin@wotthc.org

Q: I don’t see a pop-up dialog with questions. What do I do?
A: The dialog is a function within Facebook that we don’t precisely control. Based on experience the two main reasons a requestor does not see the dialog is that the Facebook app on a mobile device does not present one or the user has browser settings that prevent pop-ups. If your request is not yet rejected, you can try to open the group again in facebook and see if there is an “Answer the questions” button that may open the dialog for you. Otherwise, try a new platform.

Q: What does the request pop-up dialog look like?
A: The exact wording of questions may vary, but you will need to answer 3 questions and then answer the final question that you accept group rules. You will need to use a scroll bar to see all the content in this pop-up.
